You're great with foreground pics. I love the way the background blurs gradually and enhances the view of the subject itself. That way, the watcher can enjoy details the most. The first one that caught my eye was actually the stem's topping, the one that later opens and blooms. Great!

It's not me, it's the camera. Most of point-and-shoot cameras cannot change depth of field. But DSLRs can focus on the subject, smearing the background. Fast lenses with wide apertures are especially good at that.
